Jason Kelce and Connor Barwin started the production company Vera Y, named after their daughters Vera and Wyatt. In its first two years, the company produced a documentary, KELCE, which is now the most streamed documentary on Amazon Prime, and released a Christmas album that grossed over $1.4 million in sales. We were engaged to create the brand and website.
To honor the company’s core mission of creating honest and authentic content, we employed a no frills color palette with soft and warm accents. We used a font system that was clear and easy to read, with a font weight strong enough to hold its own.
The animated logo that we carefully curated was aired at the beginning of the KELCE documentary, following Amazon Prime in the opening credits.
When we began the branding process, we knew it was integral to capture the relationship between Connor Barwin and Jason Kelce, two legendary football players who were teammates at both the college and professional levels. After all, their friendship is at the core of this venture. We chose the black and white photography motif to emphasize context rather than emotion, achieving a simple, minimalist aesthetic.
